Mustache

My punishment for dozing at FHE.

Making

I was tasked with making some cookies for a church dance. Margo helped.

Blazer

Marc recently bought a navy blue blazer. He left for church early one morning and I didn't see what he was wearing until I saw him sitting on the stand at church. I already believe that Marc is the most handsome man in the history of the universe but I couldn't believe how this article of clothing took his good looks to another level. I made him pose for this picture so we could immortalize the moment.

Melted

I took Delphy for a run on a very cold morning recently. I was warm enough inside my jacket and face mask but I could tell that I was all frosted over outside. I wanted to take a picture of my frosty self but once I got inside and found the camera and turned it on the frost had melted and all that remained were some water droplets on my eyebrows and my eyelashes. I should also say that I felt giddy and couldn't stop smiling until at least after noon that day. Running outside feels so good. Even (or especially?) when it's cold.

I Love My Kids. Let Me Count the Ways.

I bought some new toothpaste for Harper and Margo. I got some Aquafresh in the stand-up tube. I ripped off the label to expose the pretty stripes of nasty toothpaste and put it in their bathroom. When Margo discovered it a person might have thought she was squealing with delight because I had given her all the sparkly washi tape in the world. She was so happy for the new toothpaste that she thought everyone would love it as much as she did. The next day Marc and I found our toothbrushes all set up each with a dollop of the new bubble mint paste (see above photo).

Birthday Pie to Die For

My mom and dad joined us for the weekend. Even the weekend of my mom's birthday. Instead of celebrating with the usual angel heath cake, we opted for the new favorite, nutmeg-maple cream pie. To die for.

Bowling

On the weekends you can go to NDSU and pay $5/hour for the whole family to bowl. Such a great deal. And such a great deal of fun.

Margo Burrito: Then and Now

Margo is home sick today. She wanted me to wrap her up like a baby. So I wrapped her up like we used to and it reminded me of these old photos taken when she was four months old.

Marc by Marc Wilson for Marc Wilson: Coat Rack

Marc finished this coat rack at the end of March and I am only now documenting his greatness for posterity.

I took these pictures at the beginning of April. Since then we have added some shoe cubbies under the coats. But they are a disaster and I couldn't bear to document my real life and its mess.

Marc by Marc Wilson for Marc Wilson: YTFB: Another New Series

Oh, but it felt good to unpack boxes and boxes of books that have been in storage since we moved to MN in 2011, then load them onto the new bookshelves Marc built with his own big, beautiful hands.

My Grandmother's Hat

Harper and Margo have nearly dismantled the pompom. But this hat is still keeping me warm. Whenever I put it on my head I think of my grandma.

My Favorite Things: A New Series

I just love these cheap little CTR rings that kids get in Primary. That green background. The shield. The font. Such an aesthetically pleasing way to remind ourselves to make good choices.

Pin the Bow on the Dog

We talk about birthdays 365 days of the year. Now that we are finally less than 30 days away from Margo's birthday, she has started making her final plans. And executing them. Yesterday she made a pin the bow on the dog game to play at her party. I made the bows and she did everything else.

First Margo asked what color peanut butter is. Then she went back to work. When she showed me the finished picture she pointed to the brown dot on the dog's tongue and explained that the dog was licking peanut butter just like Delphy likes to do.

Breakfast in Bed

Harper never stops asking if we can have breakfast in bed. Last Sunday she was relentless. Since church doesn't start until 11:30 a.m. we have some extra time in the morning. So after we had been up for well over an hour we made some French toast, laid a blanket on our bed, toted all the breakfast fixings to our bedroom, and had breakfast on the bed. Which would make it more of a picnic.

When I was swooning over Marc in Contemporary British Literature twelve years ago I couldn't help but notice his  nice  hands. (And his skinny Swatch watch.) When we were dating I told him how much I liked his hands. And then I told people I told Marc how much I liked his hands. And now no one ever lets me forget this strange fetish I had with his hands. When I was taking pictures of our picnic Marc wanted me to make sure I got one of his beautiful hands. Too bad I didn't actually capture their real beauty. Here they just look big and fleshy. Marc's beautiful face and his new glasses make up for it though.
