Before bed

Probably not a jump for joy because it's bedtime. But a jump for joy nonetheless.

Margo at two months

Hanami

We finally made good on a promise to ourselves to see cherry blossoms at the Brooklyn Botanic Garden. When we arrived we remembered we had left our free pass at home. But we found free parking right in front of the garden. We win some, we lose some. We were probably a bit too late for prime viewing but we were not disappointed. Especially since we paid to get in. We found a perfect spot under a tree and proceeded to sit down on a blanket for a while. It was a perfect day to be outside sitting down on blankets.

Margo slept through all of our hanami picnic. Which was fine with me.

I thought I had a foolproof plan for an awesome family picture: I would ask someone with a fancy camera to take it. But it turns out a fancy camera does not a good photographer make. Whatever.

It looks like Marc is getting ready to field a baseball. But he is getting ready to catch some of those pretty cherry blossoms. When the wind blew there was such a lovely shower of pink petals.

Still ready and waiting

Got one!

And pretty white blossoms

I'm a princess

Aunt Crystal sent along a little something for Harper when Uncle John visited last weekend. Harper has been a princess ever since.

Tattooed

Recently Harper colored her arm while I wasn't looking. No big deal. We washed it off in the sink. During her quiet time the other day she found access to these same markers and colored her whole body. She is not allowed to color with markers for a while. Yes. I am no fun.

Shooting B-ball outside of a school

It's hard to believe it's already playoff season again. The Lakers are 2-1 in their first series. Which Marc can't watch on TV because we don't have cable. Which is killing him. But he did get to play in his own playoff game over the weekend in a series that has been going on for nearly 20 years: Wilson vs. Wilson. Harper and I turned out to watch the big game. Marc wasn't as victorious as he thought he would be. Which is killing him.

Harper lasted long enough for me to take a few pictures. Here is a pre-game photo of the Brothers Wilson in which they are smiling and friendly.

Action shot

Harper was excited to bring her whistle to the game and blow on it loudly just like referees do. The first time I took her to one of Marc's middle school basketball games the referee blew on his whistle so loudly that she shook with fright. But now she likes to organize family basketball games at home where we all wear our "Lakers" and she gets to be the referee.

A Descending

Three of four Wilson siblings slept under the same roof this weekend. Our roof. Add to these three two in-laws, four kids, and a dog and you will have a wonderful weekend. Everyone descended upon our little two-bedroom apartment in celebration of Margo's blessing.

Fun and games with Eric and Connor

Eric loves to love. This was probably his fifth hug for Harper and he had only been in NYC for a couple of hours. Harper loved the love.

Sara and I wandered to the thrift store on Saturday morning. She found two pairs of ice skates for $4.

Saying goodbye. How sad. Even though Harper looks very happy. She loved playing with her cousins and their dog.

Uncle John, who has been to almost all Wilson siblings' kids' blessings. Margo was happy to meet him. And everyone else.

Two Generations and a Plastic Generation

Here is a mock-generation photo with my kids and one of their plastic kids. Since Margo's birth, Harper likes to call me Grandma and herself Mom. She is mother to a baby doll and sometimes Margo. She would love to carry Margo around and push her in her mini stroller but since that is not allowed she dotes on the doll. Which everyone is more or less happy about.

Picmics

We were fortunate enough to have several really nice days while Marc was on vacation. So we were fortunate enough to be able to have several really nice picnics in the park. Or picmic as Harper calls them. This proved to be the perfect time to eat all those Easter eggs we dyed.

Harper has a blanket that she sleeps with every night. By sticking the fringe inside her nose she soothes herself to sleep. She calls it the tickle blanket and each piece of the fringe is one tickle. Here she is showing Margo how nice it feels to stick fringes in one's nose.

Harper usually wants to help take care of baby Margo even when her help is not especially necessary. The first thing she thinks of doing for an unhappy Margo (or in this case a completely content Margo) is shoving a pacifier in her mouth.

Margo loved relaxing on the blanket. What's it like to be a baby and feel the breeze on your skin and hear birds chirping all around and not know what all of it is? It must be doubly wonderful.

Daddy-daughter shenanigans. It's a good thing Harper has a dad that will do fun stuff like this with her. I'm too scared to hang her off a rock.

A Happy Easter

Harper's favorite episode of Dora is Egg Hunt. So we had a good feeling her very own egg hunt was going to be a big hit. We were not wrong.

After the hunt Harper wandered around asking us to say egg if we saw another egg.
