I bought these shoes at the Goodwill store on 3rd Avenue and 121st in NYC many, many years ago. They had these shoes in every size and lots of colors. I still kick myself from time to time because I didn't buy a pair in every size. A few months ago Margo said I could throw these shoes away (because I asked her to put her shoes away when we came home). So I did. Gladly. The next day she regretted her choice and sadly I caved and pulled them out of the trash. They have been in a continuing state of deterioation ever since. When she asks if she can wear them to school I say "No, because you are not a ragamuffin." But yesterday she had them on and we were late so I said yes. But I told her it was officially their very last day of existence. They are deep in the trash can today. When we got to school I discovered her dirty shirt was on backwards and she was wearing a dress with green play dough dried on it. So much for trying not to look like ragamuffins around here.
