Pumpkin Carving

This is as close as we would get to seeing Marc dressed up for Halloween. Harper and Margo asked me every day what Dad was going to be, and then they wondered why he wasn't going to dress up when I told them he is a party pooper.

Before Bed

Like her big sister, Margo has started each night to lay out her clothes for the next day. She told me that one arm is up because she is holding someone's hand.

Visiting

Marc and Harper visited Grannie every day and played cards and read stories and poetry.

Harper got some one-on-one time with her great aunt and uncle.

There was reading and Myth Busters and beach time and bragging and good food and good times with old friends.

Lost and Found

While dining at the In-N-Out Harper lost another tooth. This one had been loose since March. This is the fourth tooth Harper has lost this year: one at school, two in Canada, one in California. The California tooth got lost a second time in the car. The tooth fairy sent a note that night wondering where the tooth was since her tooth radar had gone off that day. Luckily Harper found the tooth and due payment was received.

What A Little Poser

While on this trip Harper perfected the one-arm-flexed-one-hand-on-the-hip pose.

Daddy-Daughter Trip to California

Marc took Harper to visit Grannie in Costa Mesa for a long weekend. They hiked, camped, went to the beach, and visited Aunt Karen and Uncle Verl and the Bybee-Gibbs.

At the beginning of the strenuous-at-times-3-mile hike to their camping site in Moro Canyon in Crystal Cove State Park.

In the Pantry

We added some pantry shelves to the hallway. I say we but it was really Marc. Soon we might actually get organized instead of living out of haphazardly unpacked boxes. That will be nice.

On My Birthday

At A Pumpkin Patch

I joined Harper's class for a trip to the pumpkin patch.

Gifted

Harper carved her name with her teeth in her apple. I was so proud.

After Church

#birthdaysarethebest

Harper requested Lucky Charms for her birthday breakfast. And she wanted it in bed. She always wants breakfast in bed. This was too easy. It did mean we had a box of Lucky Charms for the rest of the week. Harper declared that this cereal is her favorite food. I think this is where I add some hashtags like #parentingfail #goodthingbirthdaysonlyhappenonceayear #tastetherainbowinbed #savethemarshmallowsforlast.

Grandma and Grandpa passed through on their way home from Montana and joined us for breakfast and birthday presents on Sunday morning.
